17th August 2020 Give thanks for: God’s sustaining us, and the gifting and hard work of many in the church family that has enabled the ministry to continue over the last few months. For the generous support of guest speakers over the Summer (Graham Burrows – vicar, Holy Trinity Holme; Mark Simpson – Wellfield Church Leyland; Chris Tapp – Stanmore Chapel; Michael Ots – Association of Evangelists) to give Martin a bit of a break (and the church family a break from him!). For the generosity of the vicar and PCC of St John’s Ellel (our neighbouring Parish) in offering
Prayerfulness is one of our identity markers. We live as dependent children trusting our glorious God to provide everything we need to sustain and expand our gospel ministry. We are determined to develop a culture of prayerfulness in our clergy, in our churches and at our conferences.
7th August 2020 Praise God for: Praise God for a good number of people coming to ‘Explore Online’ – a group for people wanting to investigate the Christian faith – during lockdown. Praise God that a number have started a follow up Bible study. Praise God for the Elders and 4 new Trustees, who are serving in the areas of finance, buildings, HR and policies. Praise God for the church family loving and serving one another in new and creative ways. Please pray for: Pray for wisdom as we think about how we can meet all together as a church
3rd July 2020 Praise God for: A good time in 1 John on Sunday mornings. Opportunities to speak of Jesus during these strange times. Progress with the constitution (the lock down has not helped with this). Please pray for: Starting to meet together from the 9th August. For the technology to work so some of our church family can meet over Zoom at the same time. For unity as a church family as we meet in different ways. Wisdom as to when and how to start children’s work. Making the most of a slower August.
