Who we are
Our Convictions
We are a fellowship of churches devoted to sharing God’s Word with the many nations who live in England.
Our conviction is that God transforms lives as the Bible is heard. We believe the Father works to make disciples of Jesus by changing hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit as Christians hold out the Scriptures.
Each of our pastors is committed to the historic reformed faith revealed in the Bible and expressed in the ancient creeds, the 39 Articles of Religion, and the Jerusalem Statement and Declaration.
We encourage our churches to simultaneously draw from the wealth of our Anglican tradition and to shape their worship and ministry according to their local context.
We want men and women to flourish in the church, use their spiritual gifts, exercise leadership and have training for discipleship and ministry of the highest quality. In order to protect and nourish the entire body of Christ we ordain and consecrate godly and gifted candidates for the offices of deacon, presbyter and bishop. Within AMiE, men and women are ordained as deacons, however, we believe that God’s desire is for presbyters and bishops to be men.
Our Values
We want God’s love to shape everything we do. In particular, AMiE treasures, encourages and is characterised by:
- Godly dependency. We desire to be a people of prayer.
- Godly courage. We desire to act boldly as a consequence of God’s love and sovereignty.
- Godly generosity. We desire to share our time, finances and resources across our diocese.
- Godly oversight. We desire our bishops to pastor our pastors.
- Godly humility. We desire to admit our weakness and limitations as we serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Godly character. We desire to live like Jesus as we interact with others.
Our Goals
With God’s help and for his glory, our diocese is aiming to:
- Increase the number of AMiE churches.
- Increase the number of adults and children being saved through AMiE churches.
- Increase the maturity of people in AMiE churches.
- Increase the number of theologically trained male and female leaders in AMiE churches.
- Increase the resilience and health of AMiE churches.
- Increase our global partnerships and actively promote these to AMiE churches.
AMiE is part of the Anglican Network in Europe (ANiE), which was itself authorised as an Anglican structure in 2020 by the Archbishops of Gafcon.
What we believe
Together with faithful Anglicans throughout the world, we believe the doctrinal foundation of Anglicanism found in the Bible, the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer and the Ordinal. We also hold to the Jerusalem Statement and Declaration.
