Monday 13th July

Give thanks for:

  • At Trinity Church Bristol, we have a lot to be thankful for. The long academic year has just finished, and we had a good year working through Mark’s Gospel with the students; for the first time, we mirrored this with the adults so they were both in sync. New adults have joined us, and as such, we are considering trying to plant a new house group, which is very exciting.
  • Please also give thanks for a fun year as a staff team. The four of us got on very well and worked well together.
  • While our finances are not exactly stellar, this is the first time we have not been dependent on outside support. Please give thanks for this, as student ministry is expensive and many students cannot afford to give much.

Please pray for:

  • In the short term, please pray for our “Summer Mode,” where staff take a break and we listen to pre-recorded talks. On a recent Sunday, we had good engagement with an old talk on Haggai 1. Please pray we would be refreshed as a church.
  • In the longer term, please pray our Father would answer our prayers as we pray Matthew 9:37-38. Already some young men are showing an interest in full-time Word ministry, but please pray earnestly for this because the need is very great.
  • Additionally, the next academic year will be upon us very soon. Two years ago we were caught out by the speed of this, and there is so much to do to get ready for September. We want to see Christ known, trusted, and obeyed in the city. Bristol is a city whose values are often contrary to the gospel, so the temptation for any church is to compromise. Pray we are faithful to Him as we hold out His Word. Please pray that in August there would be many hands helping reach the lost!
  • Finally, please pray for our teaching block from September to Christmas as we work through Job and Romans 9-11. May this transform us to make us more like Christ.
