Requests for prayer and praise:
- 1. Sunday preaching:
- Pray for our sermon series in Articles 6-8 of the 39 Articles, Philippians and Ezekiel 33-37. As Jon, Matthew and I prepare to preach on these passages, it seems that these sermon series are particularly pertinent for us at the stage we’re at at Hope Church.
- Pray for the Lord to speak to us powerfully through the Sunday preaching and lead us together to trust and obey Him.
- 2. Gospel partnership
- I’ve recently met with leaders of a small but faithful church family seeking to continue to reach out to folk in the local area with the Gospel. They have no Minister or elders and several of their members died last year. They know that they need significant outside help to maintain a viable gospel witness there into the future. They have turned to us for help. Pray through Philippians 1:9-11, for the Lord to guide us to see how our two church families may be able to best partner for the honour of Jesus in Wallsend.
- 3. Venue change
- Because of steady numerical growth, we’re moving from our current venue (a museum function room) to meet in a local school from Sunday 1st June. Praise God for his provision.
- Pray for a good relationship with the staff who manage the venue.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to raise up new leaders to help with both the practical side of church life (welcoming and set up) as well as the teaching side (small group leadership).
- Pray for the Lord to draw more people to us who are willing to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
