Cornerstone Church Colchester

Monday 24th November

Give thanks:

      • For our pastor John’s recovery from illness. We’re deeply grateful for your ongoing prayers, especially during John’s recent illness; we have been reminded of the importance of continual prayer. John has recovered after two months on sickness leave and is now back in work. Please continue to pray that a spirit of prayer would characterise our church and our lives.
      • We’re delighted to share how clearly the Lord has answered our prayers about our meeting venue, where we have been meeting since August. On 8th September we were told that no outreach of any kind would be allowed, but God graciously opened the way. After several providential conversations between John and the Chair of Governors, and a carefully worded letter supported by legal advice from The Christian Institute, the school has now confirmed that they cannot object to our community outreach. Please join us in thanking God for this open door.
      • For faithful service. We want to give thanks for all those who serve our church family so faithfully and patiently, week after week. Please pray that they would not lose their joy, but would continue to rejoice always in the Lord.
      • For His Word and His provision. We are very thankful for our current sermon series in Acts and for the way in which the Lord has so generously provided for us financially.

      Please pray:

      • For our Christmas events and gospel impact. Please pray that many people will come along to our Christmas events. More importantly, pray that the Holy Spirit would convict people of their need for Jesus and draw them to Him.
      • For our follow-up course, 321. In the New Year, we plan to run a follow-up course called 321. Please pray that those who attend our Christmas events would also come to this course, and that, in time, they would become followers of Jesus.
      • For our recent outreach. Please pray for our outreach on 16th November, when we delivered over 250 leaflets around the school. We had several gospel conversations and shared gospels and tracts. Pray that ongoing relationships would grow from these interactions.
