Christmas Prayer Update

6th December 2021

Anchor Church Lymington and Pennington

  • Carol singing in the streets: we drop a flier through people’s doors, with carol words, the night before. Then we turn up the next day, sing carols in their road. It was great last year – this year we’ll be able to give things out too: Christmas tracts, fliers about Anchor Church. We’re aiming for about 6 outings, Fridays and Sundays through December. Pray we go to the right streets.
  • An evangelistic video we are going to make: to go on our website, share on Facebook, that people we sing carols to would also look us up and watch it.
  • Carol service 19th December 10am: pray for guests. We don’t meet in a traditional setting, but we’ll try to make this special – with a small choir / good refreshments.
  • Christmas morning 10am: we’ll be meeting in a different venue, but it’s the same one we use for our Tots & Tinies, so pray some of them might come. Will be a ‘turn up and join in’ Nativity.

Becontree Church

  • Praise God for His prompt of a teacher to get in touch. Pray for the three year 4 classes coming to us for Bethlehem Experience on the morning of Friday 10th.
  • Pray for our Christmas Quiz night (17th) to bring back our youth group families, and that Tom (ministry trainee) would proclaim the gospel clearly and compassionately.
  • Pray for our traditional carols (12th) and family Christingle (19th) guest services.
  • Pray for us to be bold as a church family to invite our colleagues, neighbours, and family.

Christ Church Newland

  • The Christmas Quiz (Friday 10th December): that all the practical arrangements would go smoothly; that we would be bold in inviting our friends; that as the Gospel is held out, hearts would be softened ready to hear the Good News and that people would respond. Pray that God would use this event mightily so that the saving power of the Gospel would reach many unbelieving hearts.
  • The Christmas services (Carol services on 12th and 19th December, Crib service 24th December and Christmas Day): that many non-Christian friends would come along; that God would bless all the musical/practical/technical preparations; and that the services would be a wonderful reminder of that first Christmas.
  • The Christmas parties (Friday 17th and Saturday 18th December): that these would be a great time of fellowship as we come together to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour.

  • Pray church members would be struck afresh by the wonder and joy of Christmas.

Cornerstone Church Grays

  • That God will use invitations posted through letter boxes and those given personally by the church family to prompt individuals to come to Christmas services.
  • For the Holy Spirit to be at work preparing hearts to be fertile ground for gospel seeds.
