Praise God:
- For the wonderful news we have to proclaim each Christmas – that God sent his Son so that we might be adopted as sons and daughters in the him. Give thanks for the many opportunities we’ve had to share this good news: through our wreath making event, carol service at the local Ex-Service Men’s Club, at the local care home, and through our Nativity service.
- For our Hope Explored course, which ran in January, and for the three people who attended. Pray that they would be built up and strengthened in their hope in Jesus.
- For the growth of our midweek Life Groups. We doubled from two to four Life Groups in September, and now two of our new groups are full. Give thanks for those attending and pray we continue to get to know God’s word better and grow together in Christlikeness.
Please pray:
- For us as we continue our sermon series in Ecclesiastes over the next couple of months. Pray that we would grow in joy and thankfulness, recognising that all of life is God’s gift to us, rather than seeking to grasp the empty promises of success, pleasure, work, or self.
- For our upcoming evangelistic events. Both at Christ Church Hessle, and across the Christ Church Network, we are hosting a series of guest services in the coming months. Pray that we would be bold in inviting our friends to come along and hear about Jesus at church.
- For us as we continue to build teams across several areas of service: women’s ministry, evangelism, seniors’ ministry, and children’s ministry. Pray for these teams to serve well together, for the glory of Jesus and the good of his people.
